I often try to get “audience participation” on social media. Very rarely do I succeed.
In fact, often I post something I think is pretty non-controversial…and…boom…a lot of people comment and argue (usually…usually, in a civil manner).
But, ever the optimist, I shall try again as I am seriously trying to gain insights into other’s thoughts/preferences/convictions/etc.
So here is the question:
What are your non-negotiables? (not your churches, not your favorite teachers, not your parents, but yours)
For instance, among mine are the virgin birth; Jesus’ sinless life as a man; His atoning, sacrificial , substitutionary death; His bodily resurrection; the necessity of repentance and faith. There are others.
What are yours?
Please comment.
Hmmm. Hadn’t really thought about it in that way. Beyond what to me are the obvious (Christ the Son of God, trinity, eternity, can’t lose my salvation), the one I won’t budge on is the constant willingness of God to accept my repentant heart, forgive my sin and restore me to fellowship with Himself with joy, without pouting, rubbing my nose in my worthlessness, bringing it up over and over and over and over, even when I do the same thing again!!
As far as east is from west; cast behind His back; crushed under His feet and tossed into the depths of the see; and “their sin I will remember NO MORE”; an act of His will to trump His omniscience and “not remember”
